Note: The original HAPPS Yearbook was first typed onto a Gestetner
master sheet, using a manual typewriter. This master was then mounted
onto the rotating drum of a Gestetner machine -
a type of printing machine that requires ink to be forced through
small openings which were cut or pressed from the stencil sheet
during typing. This process is similar to silk screening, also used
for making fabric prints, posters, and some product labels. The Gestetner
makes printing machines, because they are less expensive than photo
copy machines for printing many copies.
